Welcome

Welcome to Calliope's Coffee House the proprietor of this establishment is Jacquie Reaville better known as The Book Imp.

When I started this place it was primarily for book reviews and thoughts on all things literary. Well the book reviews are still here, but somehow it's grown into a place for me and others to practice short fictional writing and of course a place where I can give my thoughts and opinions on virtually any subject that might take my fancy.

Hope you enjoy your visit.

Just to add that I welcome comments, the more the merrier. They don't even have to be related to books or writing just go wild (not too wild though).

Permissions are set so that even anonymous users can answer - but comment moderation is in effect which means I get to say yes or no to letting them appear here.

Tuesday Thingers: Is LT Your Only Account?

"Why did you choose to open and maintain an LT account? Do you/did you use other online cataloging/social networking sites, like GoodReads or Shelfari? Do you use more than one? Are they different or do they serve different purposes?"

I only use LT for my library no other cataloguing sites at all. I'm not sure how I found out about it either. I think it was when I was reading a post on another blog, on another social network site, somewhere, in another life no doubt :)

As for the social side, I've closed down all my other blogs or pages. Having one is more than enough for me, especially as I'm so busy besides using the internet, and reading. Sometimes I wish I could just live on an island somewhere (the UK is rather larger than I intend in that comment). Let's say a small island, surrounded by vast amounts of open water and quite possibly sharks to deter visitors, there would have to be a decent internet connection though. Ok I'm waffling so I'll go now.

  1. Very good. I want my own island, too! Yes, preferably with internet service. Not sure about those sharks, though – I might want to go for a little dip now and then.

  2. LOL. You can be my neighbour, we'll wave across the waves so to speak. I'll keep the sharks occupied so you can swim. Personally I'm having my own swimming pool built just as soon as the internet is working. :)

  3. Don't forget the cabana boy for surfside service and to retrieve a new book from the stash when you're ready for one!

  4. I have no control when it comes to joining these things. I am a member of them all or so I thought. One of the LT's Tuesday Thingers just posted about another one...lol! And yes, I went to check it out. There is no hope!

  6. J Kaye - I've stopped myself from looking, I can get far too wrapped up in internet sites, so I'm trying to be a good girl... (mutters and kicks the desk).
